The experience
Make the Ordinary Strange brings everyday objects into a conceptual art experience with maansi jain. Depending on the session, you might shape a paper vase around a found bottle, invent a poetic museum label for something in your pocket, or write an extravagant review of an ordinary object. These experiments use sculpture, humour and language to explore how context changes meaning.
Explore the available exercises on GetYourGuide and choose the option that appeals to you. The booking page specifies the session format and practical details. For questions about which option suits your group, contact the studio before reserving.
Work directly with the artist
maansi jain is a Berlin-based conceptual artist who has guest lectured at New York University (NYU Tandon and NYU Steinhardt) and brings more than two decades of teaching experience to every session. She works across photography, text, sculpture, works on paper and performance. These studio experiences extend an artistic inquiry into perception: how an instruction, an image or a material can change the way we understand what is in front of us.
