Words Become Art
A sentence passes between two people and becomes something else. Language is the material; interpretation is part of the work.

The experience
Explore how words become drawings, gestures and shared experiments. Depending on the selected option, you might translate a sentence between forms, build an image sequence around one word, or pass an unfinished instruction to someone else. The interest lies in what happens along the way: an ambiguity, an unexpected association, a meaning neither person anticipated.
This session opens questions about authorship and communication through practical experiments. It offers an accessible encounter with conceptual art for people interested in language, images and collaborative making. Check the selected booking option for its particular format.
Work directly with the artist
maansi jain is a Berlin-based conceptual artist who has guest lectured at New York University (NYU Tandon and NYU Steinhardt) and brings more than two decades of teaching experience to every session. She works across photography, text, sculpture, works on paper and performance. These studio experiences extend an artistic inquiry into perception: how an instruction, an image or a material can change the way we understand what is in front of us.
